Corporate identity = stayed bollocks. How to keep it real...

There are lots and lots of business cards in the world, I have a few myself. The old-school dinosaurs are still holding on to the myth that a piece of card embodies your brand and is central to business success... Those people I would suggest are either (a) personalityless/scared of being themselves for fear of rejection, (b) working for a company which is shit and staffed entirely by the people described in (a), or (c) a small firm trying to pretend they are big.

Business cards right now to me are a way so that people I've met who want to keep in touch with me can have my details to put into their favoured digital address book system, and then start communicating and building a relationship. The card will rarely be saved anywhere, and certainly never looked at a second time.

I dislike resource wastage, it saddens me when the corporate world do huge print runs of direct mail, brochures and leaflets which are inevitably just going to be binned. I already own all sorts of things which could be the base for business cards (e.g. card), so this time around I had a stamp made and print my contact details by hand onto anything at hand. Every one is unique, and strange, and will work as well as some coated board with bollocks printed on it.

Keepin' it real.
